American charges of Russian aggression ring hollow. Georgia started this fight – Russia finished it. Western hypocrisy is astonishing. American meddling in Eastern Europe serves no vital interest of ours. For a decade, some have warned about the folly of getting into Russia’s face. The chickens of American imperialism have now come home to roost.
Excellent article. The corporate media’s pro-Georgia propaganda isn’t fooling anyone with open eyes. Georgia is quickly shaping up to be the Israel of the Caucasus. Like Israel, they started out pledging their loyalty to the US in exchange for military and economic aid, and, like Israel, they’ll soon be receiving billions of dollars in “loans” that they will make a profit on and the US taxpayers will pay interest on.
Americans would do well to take to heart Jefferson’s advice about entangling alliances and global intrigue. Once quasi-useful “henchman states” like Israel and Georgia get on the payroll, they never leave, and they use the proceeds to set up lobbies that buy everyone in Congress. The henchmen end up running the mob.
