So. Baptists revive school exodus issue

The resolution proposed by Baucham and Shortt urges parents in California to withdraw their children from public schools, at least until all pro-homosexual legislation is repealed. Baucham says Christian parents in that state must act now

Interesting issue. Do we eventually end up with 10,000 Christian schools and 10 gay schools, instead of the current Marxist-liberal school system?

Also interesting that the teachers’ unions and school boards tend to support anti-assimilation (‘multi-culturalism’)…in every aspect except schooling. Why have a homogenizing government school system if you believe in cultural pluralism? Why not return to culture-specific, community-based schools, like America used to have? Is it because there are some cultures that the multi-cultists won’t tolerate?

Also, a variety of ethnic/religious groups have their own school systems. How come the only ones that get smeared by the leaders of the government school system and in the media only criticize Christian schools and homeschooling? I should point out that it’s the people who believe in the Old Testament (Torah), not the New Testament, that are homophobic. The Old Testament says that ‘he who lies with another man as with a woman must be put to death.’ The New Testament says, ‘let him who is without sin be the first to cast the stone.’ There are schools across this country that ONLY recognize the Talmud and the Torah, not the civilizing influence of the New Testament. How come these schools aren’t scrutinized the same way that Christian schools are?

Complex, thorny issue.

The government school system was supposed to unify the disparate cultures under one flag. It was promptly hijacked by Marxists and special interest groups, which, ironically use it to indoctrinate students these days in anti-assimilation and blaming whites, Christians, and America for all of the world’s ills.

Maybe the only truth to the whole matter is that diversity is disunity (in opposition to the Orwellian ‘diversity is our strength’ mantra of the anti-assimilationists).
